A member asked:

I have access to fresh harvested dead sea salt, is it as good for soaking pain relief as epsom salt?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Try The Bucket Test: Salt from the Dead Sea, or any 'salt water' is sodium chloride (NaCl). Epsom 'salt'(ES) is not a salt. It is magnesium sulfate (MgS04). So, you could compare every purported use for ES and try it with salt from the Dead Sea. If the same then I'd bet it's everything but the salts. Check out : http://www.saltworks.us/salt_info/epsom-uses-benefits Idea: Right leg in one bucket with ES; left leg NaCl
