are there any side effects to taking epsom salt baths for muscle pain/anxiety relief (it helps)? how often should i include epsom salt in my baths?

Epsom salt baths: Epsom salt baths are fine. They are usually recommended for 3-4 times per week

Usually not.: Unless you have some unique reaction to the epsom salts in the bath they are normally not a problem. Once or twice a day should be plenty.
