Yes: you can try that. ice the area for 15 minutes and repeat after a 10 minute break. you can take motrin as directed as well. if it is still very painful you may need it to be evaluated. if it is weak or you are having difficulty bearing weight you need to be seen. if you can move fine and it's just sore, stick with rest, motrin, and ice. after 24 hours you can start applying heat to the area
