A member asked:

I fractured my proximal fibula sunday and, originally, there was no pain unless the ankle was moved, not when it was touched. could it be broken too?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maisonneuve fracture: I would recommend getting evaluated. A proximal fibular fracture can be associated with an ankle injury as well. Both joints need to be imaged and examined and possibly stressed as well. Look up Maisonneuve fracture. It's a commonly missed injury that often times needs surgical fixation.
