A member asked:

Its been 8.1 weeks since possible hiv exposure. i tested negative for hiv1,2 ab 4th generation test. is it conclusive?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: It is a good sign that 4th generation test was negative. You should repeat it at 12-16 weeks after exposure. It would be even better to get a HIV nucleic acid test at 12-16 weeks after exposure.
