Varies: It sounds like you have atrophic rhinitis but you would need a little further examination and some history. Have you ever used over the counter nasal sprays in the past such as Afrin or similar? These can create the changes in the mucous membranes that can cause the smell. Eating cheese exacerbates the smell when you have this. Should check it out as there are treatments. Hope this helps.
