Temple injury: the temporalis muscle inserts in the jaw and will be painful when you open your mouth. Use ice on the area for 20 mins every hour then use Motrin 600 mg every 8 hours for the pain. The pain will go away in a few days and you will be able to open the mouth easier. If this persists for more than 3 days, you will need an X-ray or the mandible. Good luck and feel better!
