A type of eczema: Dear Susan, this sounds like a condition called dishydrotic eczema (http://www.healthline.com/health/dyshidrotic-eczema#Overview1) It is not dangerous and might indicate irritation of your own skin to perspiration. It can occur on the sides of the fingers. It usually is itchy but this is not always true. You can use a variety of products including medium strength steroid cream. See your PCP.
