i'm having a colonoscopy and i want to be awake for the whole procedure. is that possible? also they are having me take 12 ducolax pills.is that safe

Not recommended: A full colonoscopy can be very uncomfortable, even painful. I would certainly NOT recommend it in an awake state. Your body's response to conscious pain may also make the procedure more difficult to perform and limit the usefulness of the exam.
