Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate): Augmentin is usually recommended first line. More resistance to cipro (ciprofloxacin). The bad odor is probably from the purulent sinus drainage.

Depends on the: bacteria, but in general Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) usually works better,
