At age 79: commonest things are commonest....senile dementia in it's EARLY stages can present with GRADUAL loss of memory and other cognitive problems.. Slow progress is MOST common and life expectancy at 79 years of age is IRRELEVANT! Hope this helps Dr Z BTW (I am 76 years old)
