Every few months i have a few days where i have ectopic beats, every 40 seconds or so, had an ecg and doctor says i'm fine but they terrify me ?

It is not: unusual to have occasional ectopic beats, especially if they do not originate in ventricles. If your doctor is not worried about your ECG result you can be reassured that it is a benign arrhythmia. .
