Sure!: Never talk non-prescription thyroid meds. Get checked to see exactly how much you need and so take only as much as necessary. The prescription form of thyroid replacement is probably cheaper than the over the counter form. The FDA does not monitor over the counter meds very well, who know what you are doing to yourself! See a doc. Well worth it!

Dessicated thyroid: If you're referring to Nature-Throid, it's one of several brands of dessicated (dried) porcine (pig) thyroid. Check out http://www.drugs.com/sfx/nature-throid-side-effects.html for list of side effects (more likely from excess thyroid) which could include nausea, diarrhea & dizziness. Bloating & constipation are more consistent w/not enough thyroid. Check w/prescribing doc & monitor TSH regularly
