Multiple approaches: Cardiovascular disease is due to a combination of risk factors. It appears that chief amongst these is smoking. Smoking cessation is the number one intervention you can do. Follow this with cholesterol management, blood pressure control and blood sugar treatment. Aspirin should also be started. These interventions will go a long way in preventing cardiovascular disease. Exercise is beneficial.

Heart attack: simply, one blocks the feeding artery to part of the heart muscle and low flow, or no flow causes ischemia which cause death of the heart cells, which is a heart attack! myocardial infarction is the medical term.Ekg and lab tests show the damage.
