Nerve compression: Talk to your Ob/Gyn about evaluation for carpal tunnel syndrome. Common cause of shoulder pain and numbness referred from compression of the nerve at the wrist. Caused by swelling around the tunnel that compresses the nerve. Occurs frequently in pregnancy. Consider massage, stretching, moist heat to neck and shoulders.
