Call doc.: Since your symptoms have returned, call doc. Maybe you have a secondary infection or the first infection was not completely treated (some types of infection need longer treatment to kill all the germs). If an infection is partially treated, symptoms may resolve, but as the germs start multiplying over time, enough appear so symptoms return. So call or get checked again today.

Tricky: without an exam, I can only give general information. SoME possibilities: allergy/inflammation without infection infection with fungus (generally HARD TO MISS, so... doubt it) scar from previous. This can be BEHIND the ear and NOT visible.
