Recommendations: The multiple acute lesions strongly suggest multiple emboli, and the source may well be cardiac. Would emergently rule out subacute bacterial endocarditis, but would search for other sources of blood clots. At age 75, amyloid angiomatosis may be present, and if emboli excluded, this is another possible answer.
