Most pink eye is: viral and should not cause too much concern. If it carries on and is starting to get more irritating, with the cruds and heavy crusting, then wash them out with clear warm water and warm compresses. Artificial tears can help soothe the irritation as well. Otherwise you should not put anything else in the eyes.
