Don't drink?: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8679018 Clomethiazole is a sedative with overlapping effects of all sedatives including alcohol. As such, it is a "hair of the dog" treatment for potentially fatal alcohol withdrawal (like valium, ativan, (lorazepam) etc). It is used in this context for UNDER A WEEK, tapered and stopped.
