Your symptoms: are a bit confusing since the LOCATION is CLASSIC for Spinal Stenosis ( Degenerative arthritis lumbar spine) but the RELIEF with walking is usually NOT the case( pain of spinal stenosis usually worsens with walking In any case you can try HEAT ICE and ALTERNATING HEAT/ICE Whatever helps..but get it checked out! Your Primary Care Provider (PCP) is the place to start! Dr Z

Probably disc pain: Back pain with radiation to buttocks typically from spine. Worse with sitting more common with herniated discs; sitting position stretches already irritated nerve fibers. Standing relieves pressure on nerves by reducing the stretch. Ice or heat...whichever gives you most relief. Concerning signs would be fever, weakness, loss of bowel/bladder control, difficulty walking or uncontrolled pain
