Yes: As long as teeth are present sugar is a problem. The teeth must be cleaned after feedings.

Bacteria: It's bacteria that cause cavities by converting sugars (such as lactose in breast milk) into acids that destroy tooth enamel. Never put child to bed with bottle containing anything but water. See Pediatric Dental Specialist (for all the same reasons you see a Pediatric Medical Specialist) now that your child has teeth present. Don't wait beyond 1st birthday.
