Biliary Colic: Biliary colic can lead to referred pain with pain in the abdomen, shoulder and back/flank. It is on occasion associated with pain in the area of the kidneys (the right flank specifically). You need to check with your doctor about the results.

Cholecystitis: If the gb was not seen on the study then there is gb dysfunction. Other studies may be used to determine the cause including ultrasoung, ct and mri. Sludge or stones may be present. The pain might be from gb and not the right kidney, but you can still have both conditions as they are totally unrelated. Consult with your physician to discuss the results of the hida scan.
