A member asked:

Could a hida scan and ct scan miss something wrong with the gallbladder? upper right quadrant pain. normal lab values for liver kidneys and pancreas?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: While no test is perfect; a normal HIDA essentially shows that the gallbladder is functioning well. There are " quantitative" HIDA scans that are more sensitive than a regular scan. It is more likely that your pain is not from the gallbladder ( often difficult to exactly pin down, but you are unlikely to get improvement having the gallbladder removed.
