Pruritus ani: Pruritus ani is an extremely itchy skin condition around the anus which is made worse by rubbing or scratching. Causes such as infections or parasites have to be ruled out. Eliminate anything that irritates, use nonsoap cleanser, no washcloth, do not rub with towel, pat dry, use wet toilet tissue to wipe and blot to dry. No fragrances or dyes in anything. Dermatologist can rx proper meds.

Pruritus ani: Itching on/around the anus is quite common and can be cause by few things such as excessive sweating, parasite/pinworms, frequent stools/diarrhea and thus wiping, yeast infections, rubbing from tring-clothing, hemorrhoids, skin tags, fistulas etc... Keep good hygiene/dry, preparation-h/lamisil may help. If not better with above, consult doc for eval/treatment. Good luck.
