Very high dose: 5 mg of Ativan (lorazepam) is a very high dose, and may not be safe to use twice a day. It could be if your doctor prescribed it, and you've developed that much tolerance to it -- but this could be a different kind of problem. If you've left out a decimal point and mean .5mg instead, this could be safe if your doctor prescribed it that way. Please review with your physician.

Yes: As long as this is prescribed by an md this dose is safe.
