Had full laryngectomy 8/03. Part of flap breakdown repaired 8/18. Stoma has granulation tissue, but looks good. 4 days ago, it appears top edge of stoma is bleeding a little bright red. Surgeries caused neuro problems. Any hope in avoiding another?
86 year male got into vocal chord paralysis. Doctor in hospital considering tracheostomy as a final option if steroids dont work. His oxygen is over 95 with oxygen on. Is that procedure still necessary? Can he eat and talk normally after procedure ?
