I have pain at the front part of knee and along the inside . i was told it was tendonitis a month ago, but has gotten worse is this something serious?

Usually not, but should be followed to make sure it resolves. Usual causes include a tendonitis, a bone stress injury, or even a radiculopathy. If it does not get better, an MRI can be useful to verify the diagnosis and guide treatment.
