Not hunger pains.: Abdominal pain can be due to lots of things, besides hunger! If food does not help, then hunger is not the cause. Try an antacid and stop any new over-the-counter meds or supplements. If this does not help or the pain gets worse, get seen right away. For now, avoid caffeine, spicy food, high fat foods, too. No Splenda and sorbitol (artificial sweeteners in many foods, drinks, gum, mints).

It may just be: something you are experiencing today. Obviously, if you have not eaten as much as you usually do, you may continue to truly feel hungry. Excess stomach acid leading to peptic ulcer disease can result in a constant, gnawing feeling of hunger. Also because of slowed gastric emptying, diabetes can result in this symptom. Eat enough, especially protein, and seek evaluation if it continues. Stay well!
