A member asked:

Is ms hug seen in early stages of multiple sclerosis also is it possible to have it in right calf region?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The "MS hug": ...happens when the muscles of the ribcage go into spasm, causing a tight, squeezing feeling (and sometimes pain) in the chest. It may be triggered by overheating, fatigue or fever. MS can cause spasm of any skeletal muscle, including the calf. Other disorders can cause muscle spasms & MS can get worse , especially if untreated, so it's best to see a doctor about your symptoms.
