Not an easy question: According to the American Heart Association: After the first 24 hours of quitting, your risk for heart attack begins to decline. After 1-9 months, clear and deeper breathing gradually returns and cough and shortness of breath diminish, you also have a reduced risk for lung infections. 1year after quitting, risk for heart disease drops by 50%. After 5 yrs, stroke risk normalizes. Keep it up!
