A member asked:

I noticed some hard small bumps on my lower leg this morning near my shin (on one not both legs) and pushed on them kind of as a massage and now my leg feels hot and swollen and i see my veins. what's going on?

Leg swelling: The lumps may be insect bites even though they're not itchy. If the leg is truly swollen, it should be checked for phlebitis, edema or inflammation.

Could be serious: "hot and swollen with bulging veins" is suspicious for a blood clot. "Deep Venous Thrombosis" or DVT can be a dangerous situation. There is greater risk for someone on birth control, or after prolonged immobility, or other conditions. It could also be infection. Either way, it's worth getting checked out right away, like 'today'.

See a doctor: If you only message the lump then there is no reason to what you have ,but if you did try to squeeze the lump then you caused an infection . It could have been a small outflank cyst or a fatty tumors or a hair root follicles and you irritated by squeezing . The other pissibility if you recently shaved your legs that could be a reaction to that. It could be a vein calves that you irritated.see DOC
