I hit my shin really hard and now it is swollen in about the size of an orange and it hurts and the bump is soft, what should i do?

Hematoma: Assuming you can walk on it and there is no crunching or grinding, it is a hematoma. Apply ice and try to elevate. It will eventually go down. Typically does not need to be drained. If reddens or continues to swell should be checked.
