Get checked: Commonly this is a torus, or benign hard (bone) growth on the roof of the mouth. Typically not "squishy". For this reason, I would get it checked by your Dentist. Good Luck.

Yes: If the swelling does not go away in a weeks time have your dentist check it. Swelling can mean that you are loosing bone in that area and is not normal. Yes, I would be concerned.

Get info: The Velscope is useful for emphasizing both abnormalities and variations of normal. If your dentist thought it was normal, best to ask them what they thought it actually was. "Squishy" suggests the possibility of a mucocoele or bubble of saliva from a minor salivary gland duct interruption. Get an explanation from the examining dentist for your peace of mind.

Squishy bump: A squishy bump on the roof of the mouth is not normal. If it has lasted longer than 10 days, or if it disappears and then reoccurs, it should be examined. See your dentist or an oral surgeon.

See oral surgeon: Any suspicious bump that does not resolve itself in two-three weeks should be reevaluated by your dentist or an oral surgeon and considered for biopsy to obtain a definitive diagnosis. Visit your dentist for evaluation.
