Scope complications: The worst complications associated with upper or lower endoscopy happen with perforation through the bowel. This is very unlikely. The perforations will usually cause a bad infection to start. The infection can become bad enough to be fatal, but, this too is unlikely.

A Calprotectin was 2900 in Aug (& I have years of high levels), capsule endoscopy and colonoscopy in Sep showed nothing. Oct calprotectin 19. What could have caused the high levels then? Wouldnt my intestines have signs if it was a crohns/UC flare?
