Get checked!: Severe pain is always scary! Sometimes it ends up being a temporary minor problem, other times it can be serious. Pain in that area could indicate a hernia. If there is pain with a hernia that may mean it is incarcerated (strangulated), which is serious. See a doc quickly. If the pain does not resolve promptly, worsens, he has fever, vomiting go to an ER!
