Going back on xanax (alprazolam) again. starting at .25 twice daily to start. how much time should i allow before increases. use to be on 1 mg 3 times daily.

If using Xanax (alprazolam) for: treatment of anxiety or tremor, I would recommend a longer acting benzodiazepine which would work better for either condition. Alprazolam has short half life, so you will find that your tolerance will increase quickly. If you must use Alprazolam, I would recommend to increase by 0.25 mg every 2 weeks or so until the desired effect is achieved, then reduce dose by 0.25 mg and stay there.
