Residual pain from knee to ankle is an early symptom of fibular hairline fracture, followed by bowing of the leg and instability of the ankle joint. Other possibilities include partially torn ankle crucial ligament, nerve entrapment (tibial nerve impingement) or soleus muscle injury. Please see an Orthopedist or Sports Medicine expert ASAP.

Oh Peroneii.: Since most ankle sprains are lateral, that is the outside, I am assuming yours is. Pain from your knee to your ankle could certainly involve the peroneal muscle group. The muscle/tendon structure runs from just below the knee to just below the ankle. Over compensating could be causing the pain. You need to seek a competent, experienced foot/ankle specialist for a second opinion.
