Palate: It depends if you are taking about the whole palate or a localized lesion. You may benefit from an examination by a board certified otolaryngologist.

See dentist: See your dentist, and have them look at it. You should be seeing a dentist every 6 months for cleaning anyway, and it will not hurt to go a little earlier than 6 months if needed.
