Always better safe than sorry - as this is one of those symptoms that could be nothing or indicate another disease process going on. See answer: Dry mouth, aka xerostomia, may be related to a number of causes. It is a common side effect of many medications. Dehydration, stress, anxiety, depression, snoring, open-mouth breathing at night, caffeine and tobacco use can all cause dry mouth. It may also be related to number of medical conditions such as Sjogren's or rheumatoid arthritis. Consultation with your MD or dentist is recommended.
