ABSOLUTELY: Hypertension is referred to as "the silent killer." there are no symptoms of high blood pressure...Until an organ fails, often catastrophically. (kidney / heart / brain / eyes / vessels). Needs brought under control asap, as part of issue is the chronicity (/duration) of time passed with pressures high. Diet/lifestyle alone will not fix, and weight loss (if applies) will take time--get on meds.
