Monitor carefully: Acrania is a developmental defect that occurs during embryo's development in the womb. Possible factors are many- genetic,nutritional and vitamin deficiencies, and a large number of environmental and toxic factors. Subsequent pregnancies need to be monitored, including amniocentesis for AFP& ultrasound during 14-16 wk of gestation. Folic acid to prevent neural tube defects also shd be given.
