Pharmacist: Your pharmacist and primary care physician can reassure you about the medications you are taking with respect to side effects, interactions, proper monitoring and contraindications. In addition during checkups blood and urine testing will monitor your kidney function and if these tests are all normal, kidney damage would be ruled out.

LONG-TERM MEDICATION: It depends on the medications you are currently taking, the dosages and any underlying health problems i.e.. Diabetes. You need to have close follow up with your doctor with frequent lab testing every 4-6 mths. Normally you will have symptoms if a medication is causing problems. IE liver irritation from Lamisil (terbinafine) can cause itching and jaundice. It is critical to follow up and be monitored.
