Stop sodas, fast foo: Exercise can be done in a swimming pool if your ankle feels OK. diet is the biggest problem. Stop sodas - they increase the "sweet tooth" including diet sodas. Avoid all deep fried food and greasy food . Fat has more calories than sugar! Eat lean meats without the skin, fresh fruit and fresh vegetables. No butter and no added salt. Salt will increase the BP. Any activity is better than no activity

BRACING: You've been given advice about diet, but is there anything that can be done to help w/ the ankle itself? I would need much more information re: the surgeries, and why they failed. For now, would a prescription brace help? Regards, Dr. Latva
