Hello dr., i came home from work on saturday and within an hour i had a mild fever 101 f. i also have a headache that hurts to move my eyes. any idea?

HA with eye movement: Pain with eye movement can occur with influenza, as well as worse infectious problems such as orbital cellulitis. I have even had one patient who complained of this symptom with strep throat and scarlet fever. If your symptoms worsen or do not improve, please see a physician ASAP. Most likely a viral syndrome, but best to be safe.

Too many ideas!: Since you don't have any other symptoms yet, there are MANY possibilities. Statistically, you' most likely have the early signs of a viral infection like the common cold. In general, if you aren't better in 7 days, get severe pain anywhere, are too week to function or have symptoms that aren't consistent w/ a cold, see a doctor! ( Eye pain with movement is due to the fever.) Best wishes! Dr. A
