Absolutely!: It is perfectly safe and thank you for thinking of the safety of your granddaughter and the other kids in the NICU by getting protected against whooping cough (the "p"). By the way, at your age you should not get dtap, but Tdap. Same vaccines but different quantities of the vaccine components to provide someone your age with the right amount of each. dtap is for children under age 7.

Mgt: It is considered a shorter interval than normally would be advised which can lead to more vaccine side effects. When weighed though with the possible transmission of pertussis to newborns, especially in the NICU setting, I would suggest receiving the vaccination.
