Nerve Impingement: can be caused by nerve being sandwiched between two spinal bones in the neck area. It can cause muscle spasm and pain in the neck. This condition must be professionally managed. See an interventional pain management specialist for definitive diagnosis and management.

Neuropathic pain: That is neuropathic pain you describe and minor insults like air or water flowing over the nerve can cause a burning pain. Did you recently have zoster in the area? Any trauma? If this continues see yor MD or a neurologist they can work up why the nerve is "pinched" and having sensitivity
