No: One disc protrusion will not cause another, but the pain between the shoulder blades can well be referred from the protruded or ‘slipped’,disc you mentioned. Most frequent cervical problems are at C5-6, and this location may be the cause of your symptoms. See a pain doc for effective minimally invasive treatment. Good luck
