See your doctor: After an injury like that it would be best to see your doctor. It could hurt from the trauma and cuts themselves, or there could be foreign body in there like glass. The other possibility is a fracture of the metacarpal bone in the hand. X-rays can be done to look for retained glass fragments and rule out a fracture

Foreign body: Absolutely and you should be able to tell if you rub firmly on the wound. If a foreign body/glass is in there you will feel a well localized pain and maybe even the edges of the sliver.
