Sooner the better: Any unexplained abdominal pain should be professionally evaluated. At age 23, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID, fallopian tube infection with gonorrhea or chlamydia) is among the most common causes, especially if you also have vaginal discharge (but of course only if at risk for STDs). Get examined for sure if the pain lasts more than 24 hours, if especially severe, or if any fever.
