Yes and no: It seems you really hit it hard and caused a bruise. This echymosis (bruise) may take weeks to resolve (echymosis is the blood in the skin and muscle tissue- no active bleeding), the larger the contusion the longer it takes. I would go to doctor for exam just for reassurance. Is better to exam than to assume on the internet.
